The nascent cannabis trade industry has ignited the western parts of the country, but it has caught fire in the south. Although it is gradual, Georgia has moved forward to allow License of industrial hemp for medicinal purposes since 2019, but attorneys are still prohibited from directly advising on the business opportunities it involves within the state.

Looking to 2022, attorney Brent Walker of Walker Firm in Atlanta anticipates emerging opportunities to advise related industrial suppliers, as well as an increase in investors and retail clients seeking representation, and the potential for litigation surrounding additional legislative restrictions.
