A Massachusetts cannabis company is celebrating National Brownie Day on Wednesday with what it believes is “the biggest THC-infused brownie ever.”
MariMed said this massive candy measures 3 feet by 3 feet square and is 15 inches long, weighs 850 pounds, and contains 20,000 mg of THC.
The cake was also made to celebrate the launch of the company’s new line of hemp-infused foods, called Bubby’s Baked, according to a statement from the Norwood-based company that also has facilities in several other states.
Connecticut is taking an important step toward legalizing recreational marijuana. This week, the Senate passed a bill that would allow recreational cannabis starting in 2022. The bill is now heading to the House of Representatives. So, as Connecticut debates the legalization of recreational marijuana, where does the rest of New England stand?
What happens to the brownie now? Company spokesman Howard Schachter said it would be sent to a Middleborough dispensary and eventually sold to a medical marijuana patient. As for what the client plans to do with it, Shakter couldn’t say.
He said the purchase price is still to be determined.
