A medical cannabis company in Maryland recently opened a state-of-the-art processing facility to keep up with demand, and Corio Wellness 11 News called to see how each of its products were manufactured. Wendy Bronfein, who co-founded the family-owned and operated business, said the new 34,000-square-foot building is more important now than ever because it allows Curio to keep pace with the rapidly growing industry in Maryland. Each stage of flavor production and medicinal chewing formation, Bronvin said, “This is the wet room, where we produce the mastication and the elixirs and tincture product—anything that starts out in a liquid state.” To be properly filled, carefully fill the vape cartridges with a calibrated pipette and grind the flour into a powder before oil pulling. All work has been accomplished by Marylands. “When I started, we were probably 150 or so employees, and now we have 230,” said Tyneeha Rivers, with Curio Wellness. With new products coming out in 2022, Curio’s Chief Officer and Culture Officer said they are currently looking for more people to help their business continue to thrive. The company is holding a recruitment event on Monday to fill the vacant positions. The production expansion is just the first in a series of upcoming expansions.
A Maryland-based medical cannabis company has just opened a state-of-the-art processing facility to keep up with demand.
Curio Wellness invited 11 News to find out how each of its products is made. Wendy Bronfein, who co-founded the family-owned and operated company, said the new 34,000-square-foot building is more important now than ever because it allows Curio to keep pace with Maryland’s rapidly growing industry.
The production hub deals with every stage of flavor production and medicinal chewing formation.
“This is the wet room, where we produce the mastication and the elixir and the tincture product, anything that starts out in a liquid state,” Bronvin said.
The equipment sends the elixir down the conveyor belt to be properly filled, carefully filling the vape cartridges with a calibrated pipette and grinding the flour into a powder before oil is withdrawn. All work is done by Maryland residents.
“When I started, we were 150 or so employees, and now we have 230 employees,” said Tyneeha Rivers, of Curio Wellness.
With new products coming out in 2022, Curio’s chief of staff and culture chief said they’re currently looking for more people to help their business continue to thrive. The company holds a recruitment event on Monday to fill in open positions.
The production expansion is only the first in a series of upcoming expansions.
