2021’s Top Cannabis Strains

Colorado cannabis growers have continued to raise the bar this year as they compete to produce the best buds, yet we are the real winners. There have never been more talented growers in the legal pot, and the flavors continue to expand.

Our pick of our 10 favorite breeds of 2021 was our pick of the best fried chicken sandwiches: there’s simply plenty to choose from. We have burned over fifty breeds this year; Most were new, some were new to us, and some were classics not properly shared with the world. Here’s finding all these delicious pungent herbs in 2022 and beyond. Meanwhile, our top ten:

Roasted Garlic

The salty, slow-cooked qualities of Garlic Margy revived etched memories of Veruca Salt chewing on a stick of gum that tasted like a full meal, just without the blue, puffy body. It is almost impossible to contain the thick gas fumes of roasted garlic margie. However, the dissolution of the buds shows salty and salty notes that are difficult to get out of the cannabis. Orgasm is stress-free and helps with an upset stomach, but is also very heavy on my eyes even when I remain mentally alert. So I kept Margy’s roast garlic overnight (and booze headaches), and hope no one tries to FaceTime me.

Dragon fruit
If dragon fruit yields more or looks better, it may get the attention it deserves as a daytime option, but the strain is a bit of an ugly duckling. The long, loose shoots with heavy purple fan leaves and medium hair coverage won’t wow shoppers in today’s market. If we had to shop blindfolded, Dragon Fruit would be a hot item. The strong aroma – a blend of citrus, tropical fruits, and mandarin orange syrup – will make you think concentrated fruit juice has been poured into the herb jar, and the smoke is surprisingly close to that sign.

Jealousy
Although potent, cultured, and heavy on the eyes, the #41 gelato mix I drank doesn’t drain my energy up front. The heavyweight power of the breed is so serious that the first thirty minutes would be confusing if anxiety was present, and I usually needed a few minutes to find my directions after sharing a joint. Fortunately, Jealousy has proven to be effective at eliminating stress as well, so a strong orgasm usually ends up in the kitchen rather than the fetal position. Take your breath in slowly, jealousy is a wonderful evening stressor after a long or tiring day, providing mental euphoria and physical comfort on a patting level.

Blue cheese
This strain isn’t exactly new, but thanks to renewed interest from farmers and commercial dispensaries, Blue Cheese is back in Colorado—and I couldn’t be happier. The Blueberry and UK Cheese combo is best kept at the end of the night, as it doubles as a dinner party dessert and a weighted blanket during the first hour. These simple, comforting, and crisp flavors have created a loyal following, but you rarely see shoppers queuing up for the latest drop of blue cheese. Fine with me: It means more to us.

Cherry cake

Cherry Cake’s parents, Cherry Thunderfuck and NorCal Goo, are not typical commercial breeds, bearing more Afghani and haze-like traits than I would have expected from a breed with “cake” in the name. The smell was more spicy and earthy than expected, with some slightly sweet citrus properties, but nothing quite cherry on top. I wasn’t disappointed, though: The flavor of Cherry Cake reminded me that it’s more fruity Bubba Kush or Chocolate: The orgasm was exactly as promised. A rapid burst of ecstasy made me interested and drowned in whatever was in front of me. And while this top is short and serious to chase, the effects of Cherry Cake last all day and keep a smile on my face.

Big Bubba Diesel
Sour Diesel and Bubba Kush carry reliable, distinct – and counterproductive – effects and flavors. I was hoping for more of a tie or split decision in favor of either strain, with Big Bubba Diesel displaying the characteristics that made me fall in love with herbs in the first place. The enthusiasm had me rocked with my stomach oiled for about an hour, which easily gave the first few rounds to the Sour Diesel. However, the energy quickly left, and the hunger remained. I felt like a teenager standing four hours off his first joint, drooling and yawning and snacking during the day until nightfall. This was considered a surprise in the seventh round for Buba and a huge win for Kush fans.

Orose
I’ve never seen an Oreoz—a mixture of cookies, cream and secret weapons—tagged with less than 22 percent THC in a dispensary, and whether those numbers are correct or not, it’s an accurate reflection of the strain’s knockout potential. My first bowl felt like a sprinkle, and the eighth lasted a few days longer than usual. This power can kick anyone out, but taking it slower has made me calmer and more tired. Smoking one bowl over the course of 25 minutes after work and exercise kept me free and stress-free without draining my wits, and if I wanted to sleep early, two or three bowls always did the trick.

OG Kush
strain is at the top with its GMO, OG Kush, and Zkittlez background. Throwing three Titans in the sandbox together is no surprise to the breed’s breeder, Ethos Genetics. Nor was Zkittlez’s high-waisted clothing lining, which would slap anyone foolish enough to try it on before night. Be prepared for a nap — or a coma.

Chem Pressure

I was going to impose a pun about drying my brain for jobs after smoking this strain, a blend of Chemodo and Lemon Squeeze from Boulder’s FreeWorld Genetics, but that means the residue is left. In fact, my mind is shifting to another dimension, and I can only pray in three hours. For better or worse, that’s what we’ve come to expect from most Chem strains, but the sweet drizzle of lemony notes and healthy-looking buds give Chem Squeezy a bit of character. If you gravitate towards gas and don’t mind walking down uncharted trails as you hike, Squeezy is worth all the commercial juice behind.
