San Francisco – (BUSINESS WIRE) –MediThrive dispensary and delivery service Partnered with more than 17 cannabis brands in response to the Ukraine crisis. They plan to donate proceeds from sales in stores and online on Sunday to support people affected by violence in Ukraine.
On March 6, 2022 at 8 a.m., the Mission District Cannabis Dispensary will open its doors and welcome adults age 21 or older with a valid ID or passport. All proceeds from cannabis sales collected will be donated to a non-profit organization whose fundraising efforts provide medical and humanitarian aid to those affected by the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
While many charitable efforts focus on providing Ukraine with food and military aid, medical professionals responding to the crisis in Ukraine are struggling to treat the wounded and sick. They need more medical supplies and survival kits.
The war in Ukraine
As Russia’s invasion of Ukraine intensifies, there are more than 2,000 confirmed civilian casualties and more than a million refugees have fled the country.
Russian forces bombed schools, hospitals and churches. More than ten children died and many more were injured. Hospitals are overcrowded and have run out of necessities like antibiotics and oxygen.
About MediThrive
The Russian invasion of Ukraine hit the founders of MediThrive. CEO Misha Preberg and colleagues are Ukrainian Jewish refugees who immigrated from Odessa, Ukraine, to the United States as children in the 1970s.
MediThrive believes in universal access to quality medicine and healthcare. Our name Medi tells us about our humble beginnings as a medical cannabis dispensary that filled cannabis prescriptions for cancer and AIDS patients.
In the 1990s, the dispensary opened its doors to patients under the United States Compassionate Care Act. We are the oldest cannabis dispensary and delivery service in San Francisco. Today, we are more than just a medical and recreational cannabis provider. Our roots are deep in our community.
On Sunday, March 6, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., 100% of sales proceeds will be donated to a non-profit organization dedicated to providing supplies for families in Ukraine. With the help of our community, we can provide assistance to the victims of this war when they need it most.
We invite everyone to join us and show their support.
Together we can make a difference.
