Many believe that chocolate can cure many things, such as cravings for sweets and a broken heart. And now for Texans who use medical marijuana, chocolate can help provide treatment for various chronic symptoms.

Today, Goodblend Texas, a San Marcos-based dispensary, is launching The Heights Dark Chocolate — the state’s first medical marijuana chocolate bar.

The chocolate bar contains 5 mg of THC per square, with 100 mg of THC in each bar.

Chocolate is one of the most widely requested products by customers, said Jane Tallman, president of Goodblend Texas.

“Studies show that by infusing THC with fats like that in chocolate, the beneficial THC experience can be amplified,” Tallman said. “This is great news for patients who need long-term relief from conditions such as PTSD, cancer, or neurological conditions.”

The chocolate in the medical marijuana market is among the most popular medicinal forms, Tallman said.

“Once we developed a high-quality, consistent, and delicious bar of chocolate, we were excited to make it available to Texan patients,” Tallman said. “In the future, we hope to offer more than one flavor of chocolate so that medical marijuana patients in Texas can enjoy a therapeutic treat regardless of their preferred tastes.”

The chocolate bar, available for purchase on goodblend, sells for $35 a bar.
