Marijuana use does not spoil the legalization case

I don’t doubt that habitual use of marijuana can lead to serious mental health issues, but that’s not the result of legalization (“Cannabis and violent crime escalateBy Alicia Finley, Editorial, 7 June). Highly potent marijuana was readily available to teens before any state made it legal. As with alcohol, drug use carries serious consequences, but restricting access to criminal organizations does not prevent it. Rationing allows for research and some control over distribution.
