How to make a hemp cupcake

There are few things in life that everyone loves like a good cupcake. Like hemp, cupcakes come in a variety of flavors, sizes, and formulas, depending on what sugar percentage you’re looking at. So why not treat yourself alike?

Bakery remains one of the most stony forms of cannabis, and with cakes, you have two chances (in batter and frosting) to savor the sweets. This recipe honors the classic vanilla, but with canna cakes, the sky has no limits.

Components and Equipment

For the cupcake you will need:

For best results, use room temperature butter, shortening, and eggs when baking—the butter never melts, unless the recipe calls for it. This will make it easier to spread the butter with the other ingredients (whisk together until you get a smooth creamy consistency). For firm butter, you can put it in the microwave for 10 seconds to soften it a bit.

Leave the eggs out for at least 30 minutes before starting the recipe to get them to room temperature. You can put it in a bowl of warm water for 10 minutes to raise the temperature.

  • 1 1/4 cups (187 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 teaspoon (3.25 g) baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon (0.25 g) salt
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons (90 g) of hemp butter
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons (15 ml) vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons (155 ml) milk

You will need:

You have a few options when preparing a garnish recipe. For crisp white frosting, use ghee for fat. If you prefer to use butter, the final garnish will be slightly yellow. You can also use ½ cup of butter and ½ cup of ghee.

  • 1 cup (225 g) butter or shortening, room temperature
  • 4 cups (520 g) icing/powder sugar
  • 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla
  • 2-3 tablespoons (30-45 ml) of milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon (125 g) salt
  • food coloring (optional)
  • Decorations – sprinkles, crushed biscuits, etc. (optional)

Kitchen Mixer: There is a little bit of mixing in this recipe, so a hand mixer or hand beaters work well for this. You can mix the ingredients by hand using a whisk and spoon.

Cupcake Liners: We highly recommend using cupcake liners when making these cupcakes, even for non-stick cupcake pans; Cupcakes bake at the bottom and edges of the pan and can be very difficult to remove. Cupcake liners can be purchased at grocery, craft, or dollar stores.

How to make herbal cakes

Step 1: Prepare

Preheat the oven to 350°F (176°C) and prepare muffin tins with cupcake liners.

Step 2: Mix the dry ingredients

Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl or medium sized bowl. Sit aside.

Step 3: Mix the butter, oil and vanilla

Place the hemp, oil, and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Blend ingredients together until combined into a creamy texture.

Step 4: Add the eggs

Add eggs one at a time to the wet ingredient mixture. Beat well after each addition until completely combined.

Step 5: Add half of the dry ingredients

Now add half of the flour mixture, and beat over medium heat until blended.

Step: 6 Add the milk

Slowly add the milk and continue to whisk the ingredients gently.

Step 7: Add the remaining flour

Finally, add the remaining flour and whisk until completely gone. Do not over mix the mixture.

Step 8: Fill the cupcake liners

Using an ice cream scoop (optional), divide batter among 12 cupcakes.

Bake for 15-18 minutes or until cooked through. You can test the consistency by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cupcake and if it comes out wet, bake for a few minutes longer. When it comes out dry, the herb cake is ready.

Once done, place the baked cupcake on a rack to cool completely.

Making decorations

You will need a large mixing bowl to make the decorations.

Step 1: Beat the butter or ghee

Put the butter or ghee in the bowl and whisk until creamy.

Step 2: Add sugar, milk, and salt (and coloring)

Add 2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon of milk and 1/8 of a teaspoon of salt and beat on medium speed until blended and smooth. Then add the remaining powdered sugar and milk. If adding color to decorations, add a few drops now. Beat well until the frosting becomes smooth and creamy.

Step Three: Decorate the cupcake

Apply icing to hemp cakes using a bag or spoon. Decorate if desired.

These hemp-filled cupcakes are great for sharing and can be decorated to suit any occasion. Sprinkles, crushed biscuits, or even grated chocolate are great ideas for finishing off cannabis cookies. It’s a simple recipe that allows you to get creative with your foods and customize your herbal experience for any occasion.
