From BC to Maritimes, specialty cannabis education and training opportunities abound, with programs in quality assurance, science, management, and more. If you’re thinking about going back to school this fall, it’s not too late to apply.
Below are all the modern cannabis programs that we can find at post-secondary institutions across Canada. While many of the programs offered in 2018 don’t have any current start dates, there are still over a dozen programs to choose from.
British Columbia
Okanagan College

College of the Rockies

Upon completion of the course, participants receive a certificate from the Red Cross.

Three online cannabis education Courses offered by Mount Royal University begin in September, including one on quality assurance, one on commercial cannabis production, and a third on marketing in the retail sector. The fourth training course on Retail Cannabis Management will be offered for the first time in October.

Olds College offers a number of continuing education courses focused on cannabis online, with two being offered in the fall of 2022. In the wake of the federal cannabis legalization in 2018, Red River Polytechnic Offered a course on Cannabis 101 that covered cannabis policy, botany, genetics, commercial industry, and medicinal use. The course is not currently offered to students.
Assiniboine Community College
Although it does not currently accept freshmen, Assiniboine Community College has partnered with Durham College for a program of a Cannabis industry specialization A small program for students to learn about the basics of the industry such as production management, product testing and traceability.
Ontario
Niagara College

Durham College

All courses are offered online and the program can be completed within one year.
Seneca College

Interested students can apply for registration in September 2022 or January 2023.
Centennial College
Centennial College in Scarborough offers various levels of education for those who wish to gain a better understanding of cannabis cultivation. Delivered in person at its Kingstec campus in Kentville, Nova Scotia Community College cannabis cultivation The certificate program includes courses in commercial farming practices, horticulture, quality assurance, and industrial relations. Other institutions that have offered cannabis courses and educational programs in the past but do not currently enroll students include Coast Mountain College And the Kwantlin Polytechnic University in British Columbia, Assiniboine Community College in Manitoba, McMaster University And the College Boreal In Ontario, the McGill University in Quebec.
