NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (WTNH) — More cannabis products poured into the Constitution State Monday, Sales quickly exceeded $250,000, Dispensaries have been given the green light to begin adult use sales.
And with these additional products on the market comes even more waste.
Can hemp products be discarded? What happens to this food after it spoils? And can you throw the containers in the trash?
The way to dispose of the product depends on its type, according to information from the country.
It is important to know how to properly eliminate produce due to the high levels of THC they may be in, According to the state cannabis website. This waste can include expired and unused food items, extracts and oils, buds, vape pens and bongs.
The state recommends mixing hemp waste with other trash so it can’t be found and used again. Cat litter and coffee are specific examples cited by the state’s website. Once mixed, the items should be sealed, placed in a container, and then thrown into the regular trash.
Recyclable packaging can be cleaned and thrown away with the rest of the recycling.
Products and packaging should not be flushed down the toilet and down the drain.
