There’s a general rule when it comes to flower: the smaller the package, the higher the price. If you pay $12 per gram, you may pay $24 for 3.5 grams (pricey). You’ll pay less, gram for gram, if you can buy a half ounce or a full ounce.

Invest in that half ounce if you can afford it. Get a good quality airtight glass container and store it in a cool, dry and dark place. It will last longer than you think.

8. Grow your own at home

Ultimate budget flexibility: Develop your own budget. The initial investment is nothing (seeds, soil, pots, etc.), but the return in the long run can be nothing short of amazing.

One cannabis plant can produce a pound of usable flowers. one pound. That’s 453 grams, or enough weed to fill 600 joints. Who is this one factory. In states where home growing is legal, most households are allowed at least three plants. Some allow up to 12 plants. Know your state boundaries. It’s not free if you end up in court.

9. Join or form your own Home Farmers Network

Once you have a crop in the soil, start networking with other local home growers. They will be happy to provide advice, diagnose problems, and walk you through the best ways to increase your plant’s productivity.

Best of all: At harvest time, you can trade flowers with your new friends, comparing strains, growing techniques, and vigor. happy times.

Note: If you plant it yourself, don’t sell it. Gifting and exchange with other adult growers is legal. Unlicensed retail is not.

10. Switching from connections to pipes

We’ll go to Leafly’s basement for this classic. Years ago, Dante Jordan advised readers on a budget to switch from joints to tubes. why? Less wasted smoke, more bang.

Dante wrote:

Glassware is your best friend when it comes to cannabis preservation. A pot a day keeps empty jars away, you know? If you’re trying to save money, pick up a small tube for $15. They are a lot easier to clean and recondition than single hitters, and you’ll use less weed than you would a joint or lawn.

11. Switch to a smaller bowl

You know how ice cream makers respond to inflation by maintaining the same price point but with production little bit smaller containers? That’s what you do here.

If you have a choice of tubes, now is the time to start hitting the ones with the smallest bowl. Are you fooling yourself with a little bit of simple psychology? Definitely. Which is better than scrambling to cover that overdraft.

12. Buy popcorn buds

If you’re not ready to go bottom shelf, consider shopping for popcorn buds. As explained by writer Jeremiah Wilhelm V Leafly’s Guide to Popcorn Pops:

“Popcorn buds are a little smaller than popcorn. They are usually Grade B popcorns that don’t have the oomph of a big bag, Glossy Grade A. One of the nice parts about popcorn buds is their intermediate location in between hemp budget And high quality bud. The potency of popcorn buds should be on par with, if not slightly lower than, Grade A buds of the same strain (by the same producer). ”

One of our Leafly producers adds this pro tip: “Popcorn buds are cheaper, have fewer stalks, and often (in my experience) come from the bottom of an artisan barrel, so they’re sometimes coated with extra kef.”

13. Vape your flower in a dry herb device

Want to squeeze every last sip of moisture out of your blossom? Try vaporizing it in a vape with dry herbs. This reduces smoke loss – think of how much weed burns at that joint when you’re not actively hitting it.

14. Recycled AVB Flower

An “already vaped bud,” or AVB for short, is the brown, crunchy flower left after smoking cannabis. Although much of the THC in cannabis will evaporate, the flower does not turn to ash (unlike smoking) and retains some of its cannabinoid content. This means that it can be used twice, if you know how.

Leafly’s owns Rae Lland Premium guide to using AVB For making your own foods, capsules, RSO’s, and teas.

15. Extend that top-shelf weed by sprinkling it in some plant medium

This may raise eyebrows among weed proponents, but we’re not averse to mixing a little cheap stuff with a high-quality flower to make it last longer.

Come on, you already do that with your coffee and your vodka.

16. Use the gravity pong to maximize your hitting power

Pro tip from some of our more experienced stone experts: “Homemade gravitational supports will make the flower last a little longer.”

Leafly’s guide to gravity bongs It will guide you through the steps to create your own device.

As for the results, well…

Does gravity beats make you louder than other smoking methods?

The short answer is yes. Gravity blisters force heavily concentrated smoke into your lungs, filling them with a capacity that’s better than the average blow from a pipe or joint. When you inhale the contents of the smoked bottle into your lungs, you are essentially breathing in the smoke of an entire pot of cannabis all at once. For this reason, Gravity Beats is definitely not for the faint of heart. Gravity bong is a tried and true method for old school cannabis users. They deliver a powerful blow from THC That might be too much for an inexperienced cannabis newbie, so beware of gravity.

17. Hit the no-fee ATM before the store

ATMs in stores are convenient, but also very expensive. Who wants to pay a $3 or $5 service fee? Nobody, that is.

Operate the no-fee ATM of your bank or credit union before shopping at the dispensary. It’s your money, you don’t pay to use it.

18. Participation in customer loyalty programs

Many medical dispensaries and adult stores have customer loyalty programs that reward consumers for their return business. Sign up and start collecting points – and don’t use them until you really need them.

19. Crack open your kief catcher

Your treadmill may be carrying a load of free moisture. Most grinders contain How do Catcher – the bottom chamber that captures the finest cannabis dust.

Unwrap this catcher, and sprinkle some kief on the bottom shelf flower. Voilà – now you have a very strong and very tasty weed infused with kef.

20. Shop during happy hour

Some stores feature special discounts that are only available during happy hour (usually the slowest time of the shopping day). Others will double your customers’ loyalty points for purchasing during these quiet times.

Happy hours vary by store, of course, but many outlets run these specials during the morning shift from 9am to 11am. Others offer happy hour from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and some may offer late-night bargains. know your area; It will save you money in the long run.

21. Consider your provider a free expert advisor

Another benefit of shopping during slow business hours: plenty of time to bond with the little one. Tell them your wallet is a little small this week and ask them to suggest some price-value products. They know where the deals disappear. Let them show off their knowledge. And hey – don’t forget to tip. You may be broke, but you are not cheap.
