Cannabis company Aleafia Health in Ontario, Canada, said it has reduced its “full-time equivalent” Number of employees increased by 20% during the quarter ended December 31 as part of a drive to reduce expenses.
In its announcement Monday, Afia did not specify exactly how many deals were cut during the quarter.

Layoffs at Aleafia are the latest example An ongoing trend in the regulated cannabis industrywhich led to a recent job loss at Aleafia’s Canadian competitor Canopy Growth Plus US marijuana companies such as Columbia Care, Curaleaf Holdings, and Trulieve as well as affiliates including Dutchie, Leafly, and WM Technology.
Aleafia has reduced its “full-time employee count” by 36% over the course of 2022, cutting 89 jobs to 162 positions, according to one regulatory document.
