Earlier this month, we announced the launch of a program High Times Cannabis Cup People Edition in Michigan, but now we’re hyping the West Coast for its People’s Choice Awards comeback! Welcome to High Times Cannabis Cup SoCal: People’s Choice Edition 2023, an entertainment-only competition that celebrates some of the best cannabis products in the region.
First introduced in 2015, the SoCal Cannabis Cup thrived as an in-person event between 2015-2019. Back in 2015, strains like Flower Bomb Kush, True OG, and Amnesia Haze were the top of the crop, and categories like “Best Booth” and “Best Glass” were still popular. The pandemic may have halted personal events, however People’s choice Taking the nation by storm, SoCal’s People’s Choice contest takes place in 2020 (with winners announced at 2021) And 2022. In 2021, there are huge favorites like BiscottiAnd GLONADAnd Lemon sponge cake Ranked #1, among a variety of premade menus, foods, and more. our 2022 SoCal: People’s Choice Edition It was one of the biggest cups to date, with winners like Top Shelf Whoa Si Whoa CultivationAnd Circassian flower pinkAnd Wizard’s Trees Studio 54And Zahra Peace, mercy and blessings of God be upon you—Just a few amazing strains have won over our rulers.
Fast forward to this year’s High Times Cannabis Cup SoCal: People’s Choice Edition 2023And We look forward to trying another exciting range of products. With that in mind, here’s the schedule for this year: Product submissions will be delivered in Moxie Linwood Between May 8-10. Then our official partner, Moxie, will build the arbitration pools and then we will transfer the pools to all participants High times And Be of heart retailers. On May 20th, the judges kits will officially go on sale! Judges will have between May 21st and July 10th to test out the goodies, and provide their thoughts on product trade-offs such as aesthetics, smell/smell, taste/flavor, effects/effectiveness, and more.
According to High Times Competitions Director Mark Kaz, 2021 was a record year in terms of participation. “Twenty-one cups, 339 brands, and 1,389 combinations of entries, all judged by nearly 15,000 judges who helped crown 249 Best Product Award winners in their state.” Kaz said. “Our industry is going through a severe recession, restrictive regulations, and a lot of other problems, but one thing is for sure, people want to know who has the best weed, and we’re here to help.”

Entry categories:
- Indica flower (maximum 2 entries per company)
- Sativa flower (maximum 2 entries per company)
- Hybrid flower (maximum 2 entries per company)
- Pre-listings (maximum 2 entries per company)
- Pre-filled rolls (maximum 1 entry per company)
- Solvent concentrates (maximum two entries per company)
- Non-solvent concentrates (maximum two entries per company)
- Vape pens and cartridges (maximum two entries per company)
- Foods: chewing gum and fruit (maximum 3 entries per company)
- Food: Chocolate and non-gum (maximum 3 entries per company)
- Food: Beverages (maximum 2 entries per company)
- Sublingual, capsules, tinctures + topicals (maximum 3 entries per company)
Admission requirements:
- Venus: (228) 1 gram sample. We will not accept any 3.5G inputs.
- Pre-rolls and pre-rolls: (228) Samples: Pre-rolls will be capped at only 2g flower each; Granulated Pre-Rolls will be capped at 3g flower equivalent or 1g equivalent concentrate each.
- Concentrates and vape pens: (228) 5 gram samples. We will not accept any 1G entries. Batteries required for carts.
- Food: (100) samples with 100 mg of THC max.
- Beverages: Must be a maximum of 16 fluid ounces, and non-glass containers are best.
- Sublingual, Capsules, Tinctures + Topical: (60) Samples with 500 mg THC Max.
In terms of introduction pricing, competitors should note entry fees depending on the number of products they offer. While a single entry is $250, and entries are $100 per entry (both are non-refundable), submissions of three or more entries are a refundable deposit of $100 per entry held, which is refunded upon successful submission of all entries. Finally, if you would like to sponsor this year’s High Times Cannabis Cup SoCal: People’s Choice Edition 2023, all entry fees will be waived. We also offer multiple levels of sponsorship, including general, bronze, silver and presentation sponsorships.
