Delaware lawmakers now have the unique advantage of voting twice to legalize adult use of marijuana.

The vote sets the stage for another potential clash later this year with Democratic Governor John Carney.
Carney became the first Democratic governor to stop rationing passed by the state legislature when he was Object to a similar package in May 2022.
However, unlike last year, both of the marijuana bills approved by the Senate on Tuesday passed overwhelmingly under veto power:
House Bill 1 legalizes up to an ounce of marijuana for adults 21 and older. HB2 establishes a state commission to oversee the adult use industry and sets state taxes on cannabis at what one lawmaker has claimed is the lowest in the United States.
