Massachusetts hemp growing and retail company Insa Lay off an undisclosed number of workers in the past few months.
The downsizing came as a result of increased competition from “out-of-state” companies in the Massachusetts marijuana market, Ensa CEO Peter Gallagher told MassLive.com by email.

“To meet these new challenges, we have focused on implementing significant cost-saving measures to align with the new market,” Gallagher said.
“Through this process the difficult decision was made to eliminate several positions in the company.”
Insa did not immediately respond to MJBizDaily Request for more details about layoffs.
The company is headquartered in the Springfield suburb of Easthampton, and also operates in Florida and Pennsylvania.
An Insa store is set to open soon in Ohio, and so is the company Licensed in Connecticut.
