Republican lawmakers from Wisconsin removed proposals to legalize marijuana for recreational and medical use from the governor’s executive budget for the 2023-2025 biennium.
At the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee hearing on Tuesday, members voted 12-4 to overrule several items of Governor Tony Evers’ (D) budget request, including Measures to legalize, tax and regulate cannabis in the state.
