Agriculture employees form Connecticut’s first cannabis federation

Approximately 50 employees of Advance Grow Labs have them Formed the first cannabis union in Connecticut, according to the union.

Forty-eight employees from the company’s West Haven farming operation have joined United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 919, according to a press release.


“We are excited to bargain a contract and set the standard for all cannabis workers in this state,” said Mark Espinosa, President of UFCW Local 919, according to the press release.

“We know there is strength in numbers, and now many workers coming in will benefit from the hard work that these workers are doing at Advanced Grow Labs.”
