A Democratic senator says she wants to amend the bipartisan banking marijuana bill to include provisions that would allow cannabis companies access to the services of the federal Small Business Administration (SBA).
Sen. Jackie Rosen (D-Nevada) said on Tuesday that lawmakers “should fully support cannabis small businesses that operate legally, and that means giving them access to [SBA] loans and resources.”

To that end, the senator said, pointing to a link A recent opinion piece on the marijuana moment Minority Cannabis Business Association (MCBA) board member Tahir Johnson called for the legislation to be expanded to include SBA aid.
On Tuesday, Johnson responded to Rosen’s tweet linking his op-ed by telling the Marijuana Moment that “proponents and opponents of cannabis legalization are overwhelmingly opposed to the formation of ‘Big Tobacco’.”
