Consumer sales of recreational cannabis products rose in every Canadian province during March 2023, according to newly released data by Statistics Canada.
Sales rebounded strongly to C$405.5 million ($300 million), up 11.3% from the previous month and 12.8% from the same period last year.

It is the second time that cannabis sales in Canada have crossed the C$400 million mark. December 2022 sales were C$425.9 million.
Ontario topped sales in March 2023 – Canada’s most valuable market – with cannabis sales up 12% to C$158.9 million.
Ontario sales accounted for 40% of the country’s cannabis consumer revenue, which is roughly proportional to its population in Canada.
After Ontario, Alberta is the second largest cannabis consumer market.
Recreational marijuana sales in Alberta increased 11.2% in March compared to the prior month to C$72.3 million.
