Good Vibes, Great Cannabis on theWOODS 1st Anniversary

Woody Harrelson recently told me that he “loves my cool.” Let me set the scene: I was enjoying joints in a mushroom-nest cabana at theWOODS Garden, the beautiful dispensary-meets-consumption lounge in the heart of West Hollywood, California, as he discussed the importance of protecting Emerald Triangle growers—one of the actor’s passions. The next time I saw him was this past Monday, as we gathered again at TheWOODS to celebrate their first year in business.

Ever the rural enterprise, theWOODS opened its doors to movers, shakers and cannabis lovers on May 15th. But there was no roped VIP section or high security for Harrelson and his celebrity friends. The event specifically left no one out and was not promoted – the Tinseltown experience is certainly rare, the land of relentless self-promotion. Instead, there were only good vibes, good friends – and, of course, great cannabis.

By coincidence, the event lined up with the release of the latest version of hemp now Magazine—with Harrelson Well Placed as its cover story. The special event was a potent mix of launch party shenanigans and anniversary celebrations.

As I strolled through the crowd of happy guests, I remembered “Third placeA suggestion coined by Howard Schultz, CEO of Starbucks. The third position concept is to provide clients with a comfortable and inviting space to relax and unwind outside of home and work, and a place to connect with people from within your community. TheWOODS’ Zen Garden filled with tropical plants, birds, and Koi Carp certainly echoed that sentiment and ticked that box.

Guests smoked and smoked flowers and hashish in this little piece of weed heaven on WeHo. I was reminded of the relaxed atmosphere of the cannabis lounges in Barcelona. It was surreal to drink cannabis freely in such a magical setting – a moment for the annals of history.

Celebrations and celebrities

Devon Wheeler, co-founder of TheWOODS, said the event wasn’t just an anniversary party; It was a celebration of a work in progress and the first time 8,000 square feet of WOODS was opened and used as intended.

“Every aspect of the space was intended to be close to nature and relaxing [Santa Monica] Wheeler said. “It was a star-studded event, and the space was intended to be safe and comfortable for clients and celebrities to relax and get away from the Hollywood glare.”

And at the center of it all is Woody Harrelson, Hollywood icon and cannabis advocate.
